Section 6

      Within sixty days following the last public hearing, the board of county commissioners shall make a decision on having code home rule status. Adoption of code home rule status shall be done by resolution, passed as in the usual course of considering resolutions, by at least a two-thirds majority of all members elected to the board of county commissioners. The resolution shall state that the county shall operate under Article XI-F of the Maryland Constitution, subject to approval at referendum. A certified copy of the resolution shall be sent to the board of supervisors of elections for the county.
